Restpoint

Rest Point is a personal seating unit for airports and public spaces. Inspired by the need for privacy in waiting areas, Rest Point provides passengers a private area to relax and carry out activities such as getting online via personal digital device or reading. Placed in a shifted order, passengers are not disturbed by the person behind or interrupted by person next, since seating units are separate. Designed for need of passangers in terminals, it offers a working area and plugs for electronic devices. Comfortable seating unit also provides a safe luggage area that keeps baggage safe.

Kagome

Designed by Shinn Asano with background in graphic design, Sen is a 6 piece collection of steel furniture that turns 2D lines into 3D forms. Each piece including “kagome stool” has been created with lines that minimize excess to express both form and functionality in a range of applications, inspired by unique sources such as traditional Japanese craft and patterns. Kagome stool is made from 18 right angle triangles that support each other and when viewed from above forms the traditional Japanese craft pattern kagome moyou.

Chromosome X

A Dining Table designed to provide seating for eight people, who interact in arrow arrangement. The top is an abstract X, made of two different pieces accentuated by a deep line, while the same abstract X is reflected on the floor with the base structure. The white structure is made of three different pieces for easy assembling and transportation. Moreover, the contrast of teak veneer of the top and white for the base was selected to lighten the lower part giving more emphasis on the irregularly shaped top, thus providing a hint for different interaction of the users.

Butterfly

"Butterfly" is part of an exercise in exploration of metal processes. Inspired by Mexican Monarca Butterflies, which despite to the fragile appearance of its wings, is capable of traveling more than 4000 kilometers from Canada to the state of Michoacan in Mexico. The pure lines resemble a wing shape of a butterfly and its structure is made to create a very confortable, strong and aesthetic piece. Always looking for a perfect balance between function and production feasibility, "Butterfly" makes up pairs of stackable, cast aluminum, indoor-outdoor chairs.

Dining table and beyond

This table has the ability to adjust its surface to different shapes, materials, textures and colors. Contrary to a conventional table, whose tabletop serves as a fixed surface for the serving accessories (plates, serving platters, etc.), this table’s components act as both the surface and the serving accessories. These accessories can be composed in different shaped and sized components depending on the required dining needs. This unique and innovative design transforms a traditional dining table into a dynamic centerpiece through its continual rearrangement of curved accessories.
